BESM 5e Solo, Part 3.5 - Supplemental Material, The Conduits

From the very beginning, some tribesmen were gifted or born with the connection to one of the True Worlds created by Maker himself as a Source of their power.

The conduits also known as the "Named Ones", "Mediators" or simply "Sorcerers" have an instinctive talent to link to one of the First Worlds through the void, space and time and summon the raw energies of those Worlds to the place where the channeller is present.

In order for such chanelling to take place, the conduit must have a permanent link or access to the Source World. And this is achieved by conduit being granted a True Name by the Wrigth or the Scholar. Such name has a spark of the True Language the very same language that Maker used to create Worlds. The person who gives the name to the future mediator usually is the one who has an understanding of the True Language and the Source World which is used to establish such link. Hence the reason for those people being called "named ones".

The name that is bestowed upon the tribesman tends to describe the origin of person's power. The name such as 'black fire' signifise that the person has an access to the First World of Fire as his Source world and the flame he channels itself will be of... pecuiliar colour.

Unlike wrigths and scholars, the conduits do not neccesearely need to study in order to unleash their full potential. The mediators tend to channel the energies solely based on instincts, though such talent has its own flaws.

The power of the conduit is hidden in the name and the meaning behind it. For the stranger to know the name of the sourcerer is to take control over that link and the chanell between the mediator and the Source World. Knowing such secret gives the advantage against the conduits powers or can severe this link completely. Any sorcerer guards his true name to the point of not using his power at all in order to prevent giving any hints about the origin and source of his powers.

As a custom dictates, true names are bestowed using the words of True Language, an old language that was used during the age of Founders, not many speak this language at present day and time. It may provide some sense of security but so little comfort. Losing one's name to the stranger can lead to the risk of losing self as well as the link to the Source World. Think of it as losing an access and login.

To play the conduit is basically one need to choose the class that is proficient using magic based on instincts and through connection to the source of power, and not through the study. In D&D terms the sorcerer would be a great example of the conduit.
As the Source of power for the named one, I was thinking to start with the Big Four Elements: Fire, Air, Water and Earth. In fact, the D&D rules give the rules to play all four.

The fire conduit can be played using the Dragon bloodline from 5e PHB with afinity to fire like red, gold or brass dragons, Pyromancer from free supplement of Kaladesh or the Phoenix Sorcery from Unearthed Arcana (June 2017)

The water conduit can be played using the Sea Sorcery from the very same Unearthed Arcana (June 2017)

The named one of earth can be played using Stone Sorcery that is again presented in Unearthed Arcana (June 2017)

The air mediator can be played using the Storm Sorcery from the Sword Coast Adventure Supplement or Unearthed Arcana variant (Waterborne Adventures May 2015)

The Conduit, or the Sorcerer would have to obey the same principals.
The hit die d6 of Sorcerer would be divided between Health and Stamina. However, as a magic user the conduit gets additional Stamina on each level. The reason for such is that the same Stamina is used to cast spells in addition to dish out the damage, thus giving the sorcerer a fighting chance.
